A Gentle, Playful Way to Start the Conversation 💬❤️
Discovering your child has dyslexia can feel overwhelming—but talking to them about it shouldn’t be! Written by Cee MK, The Bs and Ds of Bob: A Bit About Dyslexia is the perfect, low-pressure introduction to talking about reading and writing struggles.
This 11-page booklet introduces your child to Bob, a bright and boisterous kid who faces real challenges with dyslexia, but refuses to let it hold him back. Handmade and designed to be eye-catching for curious kids, this booklet uses brief text in a narrative format to take on a big topic.
Designed with Parents & Kids in Mind:
-
Meet Bee & Dee: Say hello to two cute drawn characters shaped just like the letters b and d!
-
A Wordplay Adventure: The story pairs B words with Bob’s amazing, positive traits and D words with his daily challenges (like d-d-dyslexia), making letter confusion feel approachable and normal.
-
Real-World Inspiration: Bob doesn’t grow up to be a billionaire tech mogul—he becomes a dentist! It’s a wonderful reminder that people with dyslexia thrive in everyday, awesome careers.
-
The Power of Purpose: Watch how Bob’s big dream of fixing teeth sparks his motivation to persevere through school and embrace his learning style.
-
Eye-Catching, Crafty Visuals: Set against a sleek black background, the booklet features original cartoon art layered with pops of watercolor in a vivid collage style.
The Big Picture (in just 11 Pages!)
This quick, engaging read touches lightly on dyslexia as a natural, brain-based learning difference. By the end, the Bees and Dees come together, showing your child that by embracing both the challenges and the benefits, they can be their absolute, full self.
